Introduction to Power BI

With the Introduction to Power BI training, you will learn how to convert data from various sources into reports and interactive dashboards. You will be introduced to Power BI Desktop and discover how to import, clean, combine, and visualise data.

Using practical exercises, you will build reports that provide immediate insight into performance, trends, and improvement opportunities. You will also learn how to design clear dashboards and present information effectively to colleagues and management. After this Power BI training, you will have a solid foundation to analyse data faster and professionally support and further develop data-driven decision-making within your organisation.

Who is this training for?

This Power BI training is suitable for professionals who regularly work with data, KPIs, and reports. This includes managers, consultants, controllers, quality staff, process improvers, and data analysts.

Experience with Power BI is not required. Basic knowledge of Excel and an affinity for data will help you to complete, understand, and apply the exercises.

What will you learn?

During the training, you will learn to navigate Power BI Desktop and retrieve data from various data sources, such as Excel. You will use Power Query to clean, structure, and merge data. Subsequently, you will build a data model and establish relationships between tables. You will create visualisations, set up filters and slicers, and combine these into an interactive dashboard. In doing so, you will learn which charts are suitable for different information requests and how to design reports clearly.

Upon completion, you will be able to independently develop a Power BI report with which you can analyse performance, recognise trends, and present management information accessibly to colleagues, clients, and management.

After completing this training, you will receive the ‘Introduction to Power BI’ certificate of participation.

If you wish to become certified through an official Microsoft exam, you can follow the Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) training.
