What do you learn during a Lean Green Belt training?

During the Lean Green Belt training, you will learn to analyse and improve processes. The focus is on eliminating waste and improving lead times. You will learn practical tools that you can apply directly within your own organisation, without the need for in-depth statistical knowledge.

Upon completion of the Lean Green Belt training, you will be able to:

• Identify improvement opportunities within processes and teams
• Recognise waste and convert it into concrete actions
• Structure processes with tools such as 5S and Value Stream Mapping
• Solve problems with techniques such as 5Why and Fishbone diagrams
• Manage an improvement project in a structured manner

Which techniques are part of the Lean Green Belt training?

Techniques such as 5S, standard work, Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping help you to make waste visible and improve processes immediately. This leads to more structure on the shop floor, shorter lead times and a culture of continuous improvement.

What does a Lean Green Belt project deliver?

After this training, you will be able to organise activities and accelerate processes within your department. Think of shorter lead times (up to 50%) and less waste in daily processes. You will tackle this using the Kaizen approach or the DMAIC roadmap.

The training prepares you for the Lean Green Belt exam from the Lean Academy, an internationally recognised certification body. The certificate is used worldwide by training and examination institutes, including the University of Twente, APMG International and EXIN.

The exam is optional and consists of a theoretical and practical part. For the practical exam, you will carry out a Lean improvement project at Green Belt level. Symbol is an ‘Accredited Training Organisation’ (ATO), where you can order an exam voucher and receive guidance for your practical project.
