Over de training

Processes rarely fail completely unexpectedly. The warning signs are often present but go unrecognised. FMEA provides the structure to identify risks and implement preventive measures before issues arise.

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a proven risk analysis tool for systematically identifying potential failure modes, their effects, and causes. By implementing preventive and detective measures at an early stage, you can prevent failures or detect them in time. In an increasing number of sectors, FMEA is a mandatory component for the release of new products and processes.

In this training, you will work according to the AIAG and VDA harmonisation of 2019 and follow the 7-step approach for setting up a Process FMEA. You will conclude by drawing up a Control Plan. You will be guided by consultants who apply this daily in practice.

Who is this training for?

The FMEA training is intended for professionals responsible for process development and quality.

This training is suitable for:

  • Engineers and process owners
  • Quality managers and quality employees
  • Professionals in the automotive sector or supply chain
  • Anyone working with IATF 16949:2016

The educational level ranges from vocational to higher professional education.

What will you learn?

After completing the training, you will be able to:

  • Set up a Process FMEA according to the VDA/AIAG handbook 2019
  • Understand and apply the 7-step approach for FMEA
  • Assess Severity, Occurrence, and Detection, and determine Action Priority
  • Explain the relationship between Process FMEA and Design FMEA
  • Apply FMEA within IATF 16949:2016
  • Develop and implement a Control Plan
  • Explain the relationship between FMEA and Continuous Improvement
  • Add changes and improvement measures to an existing FMEA

Process FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is a structured risk analysis that identifies and analyses potential failure modes in a process, allowing preventive measures to be taken.

The purpose of the training is to teach participants how to systematically analyse and manage risks in processes, thereby preventing errors early and improving quality.

The Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (pFMEA) training is intended for engineers, designers, and quality professionals involved in process development and quality improvement.

This PFMEA training follows the AIAG & VDA harmonisation (2019) and also addresses the relationship with standards such as IATF 16949.

Afterwards, you will be able to independently set up and apply a Process FMEA to manage risks, improve processes, and reduce failure costs.
