Other info

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a proven improvement method widely used within machine-intensive industries, such as the food, pharmaceutical and automotive sectors. TPM focuses on maximizing the effectiveness and reliability of machinery by preventing breakdowns, losses and failures. Involving employees in maintenance and continuous improvement creates a more stable production process with optimal utilization of man and machine.

Target

The target audience for a TPM training course consists of employees and managers within production organizations who deal with the management, maintenance and optimization of machines and installations on a daily basis. Think of production employees, mechanics, technical service, supervisors and process engineers.

Objective

The objective of this TPM training is to give participants insight and skills to reduce waste within the production process step by step towards zero or in other words: zero losses, zero defects and zero accidents. After attending this training, participants are able to apply the principles of Total Productive Maintenance within their own work environment. The emphasis is on maximizing the effectiveness and reliability of the machinery by preventing failures and minimizing (unplanned) downtime.

Content (approach)

During this training the following components will be covered. Because the training is provided in-company, your own machinery, maintenance program and challenges of your own organization will also be used as a starting point.

  • Introduction and history of TPM
  • The eight pillars of the TPM house:
    1. Focused Improvement (Kobetsu Kaizen)
    2. Autonomous Maintenance (Jishu Hozen)
    3. Scheduled Maintenance
    4. Education & Training
    5. Quality Management
    6. Early Equipment Management
    7. TPM in office environments
    8. Safety and Environment
  • Practical tools: OEE, visual management, 5S in maintenance
  • Roles, responsibilities and ownership
  • Roadmap for TPM implementation.
  • Translation of theory to own environment

In addition, additional in-depth modules (in-house) can be trained and/or pathway guidance provided.
