Policy Deployment Roadmap

Step 1 – Clear project charter and scope

Successful realisation begins with clarity at the outset. We draft a sharp SMART project charter with a clear problem definition, distinct scope, and intended impact or savings. We also establish success criteria, deliverables, and responsibilities to ensure focus and direction.

Result: A clearly defined project with explicit objectives and expectations.

Step 2 – Strong staffing and clear division of roles

An improvement project requires a decisive structure with clear roles. We guide the composition of the project leader, team, and Champion, and actively secure management commitment. The Champion acts as the client and sponsor, the project leader manages the project, and the team provides substantive expertise and capacity.

Result: A team with a mandate, ownership, and the right competencies.

Step 3 – Targeted building of execution power

Successful execution requires targeted competency development. We link learning directly to ongoing projects, ensuring theory and practice come together. Training in problem solving, Lean, Six Sigma, data analysis, and change management is applied immediately according to the principle: show, participate, do.

Result: Growth in knowledge and skills that contributes directly to project results.

Step 4 – Realisation, steering, and anchoring

Results are achieved through consistent execution and structural anchoring. We provide support through coaching, peer review, and progress monitoring on both content and process. Improvements are recorded in standards, work instructions, and quality management, ensuring that the impact achieved is maintained and can be further expanded.

Result: Completed projects with demonstrable impact and sustainable anchoring.

From strategy to impact

Structured improvement requires discipline, structure, and perseverance. Symbol guides organisations as a hands-on partner that not only advises but also actively contributes to realisation. We operate in the boardroom and on the Gemba, coaching project leaders, facilitating reviews, and ensuring that improvements stick.

Our approach combines the hard side (project structure, KPIs, reviews) with the soft side (leadership, behaviour, culture). This creates an organisation that doesn’t just make plans, but actually realises them.

Policy Deployment is the process by which strategic annual goals and breakthrough projects are actually executed, monitored, and anchored. It translates plans into concrete actions, measurable results, and structural embedding within the organisation.

Policy Development determines what the organisation will achieve this year (goals, KPIs, priorities). Policy Deployment ensures that these goals are actually realised through projects, performance management, and strict ownership.

By appointing a clear Champion (client) and project leader (Green/Black Belt) for each project with an explicit mandate. Clear responsibilities, decision-making structures, and result obligations increase execution power.

With KPI dashboards, visual management, and regular monthly or quarterly reviews. Progress is measured against results, risks, and realised impact relative to strategic objectives.

By anchoring results in standards (QMS), work instructions, systems (Poka Yoke), and KPIs. Additionally, periodic follow-up through audits and management reviews is essential to prevent relapse.
