We would like to hereby inform you, as our relation, of the measures issued by the International Automotive Task Force regarding the validity of IATF 16949 certificates and the corona crisis.

Automotive industry certification rules updated in connection with Corona

The International Automotive Task Force released measures that address the validity of certificates during the Corona outbreak. These measures are aimed at creating the necessary flexibility for companies facing external audits in the coming months.

Key measures in a row:

  • 6-month extension for all issued and valid IATF 16949 certificates. A recertification audit will then have to take place no later than 120 days before the extended validity date of the certificate.
  • If stage 2 audits cannot be completed within the specified time, a 90-day extension is possible.
  • Surveillance audits can also be postponed for up to 90 days without initiating the de-certification process.

Check the validity date of your IATF 16969 certificate here , including any renewal. More measures are in effect. Want to know more about this?
